I'm very proud of myself. I never thought I could cook for others like I did today. I learned a lot of cooking skills and the importance of team work. - Chef Hai Yu
I was so nervous, but I did it. When everyone looked at me my brain was empty and I made a small mistake but eveyrone gave me a smile. Thank you everyone!!! -Chef Juelong
Today we competed against the swiss chard quesadilla. The judges liked the taste of our soup and loved the perfect balance with the creaminess and sweetness with the butternut squash in addition to the creme fraise, feta and dill. All the judges loved both of ours and I felt good because this is my first step towards being in the culinary world. I want to be a world famous pastry chef. -Chef Daphne
I am really glad to be a part of the Teen Battle Chef program. This is my first time participating in anything like this. I never really found out just how special and unique it is to cook. As an artist myself I never found cooking interesting but as I was doing the knife skills I saw the subtlety and detail to cut. The detail in presenting helped me find a new passion for food decorating. -Chef Gerard
I am so glad I have this opportunity to stand in front of people to show my cooking skills. I really had fun today. I will keep cooking and never forget the happy feeling that I felt today. - Chef Rong
Teen Battle Chef has been a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks to all those who support this cause to help teenagers be more passionate about cooking in a healthier way.
This Whole Foods event was similiar to the one in tribeca but this time there was more people and more judges. It was as exciting as the other one and the food was very good. -Chef Marielis
Today was the best. Our dish tasted better than ever and I was much better in front of the crowd. I love doing this I can't wait for future events. - Chef Andrea
I participated at the Whole Foods at Bowery and really enjoyed doing another whole foods event. The people were delighted with the food from both sides and I was happy to eat both dishes again.-Chef Ayerine
This event was awesome. We got to cook in front of an audience which was pretty crowded and we got to show our creativitiy. -Chef Fernando

We are Teen Battle Chefs, ambassadors for health. Fueled by food, we import knowledge & opportunity to our community. We know who we are and what we eat, making a transition from student to teacher. We are Teen Battle Chefs, young powerful chefs of tomorrow.
Stirring Up Change In a Community Near You
Teen Battle Chef, is a program of FamilyCook Productions in over 75 schools and community sites across the U.S. Over half are sponsored in high schools by HealthCorps. This blog began in summer 2010 when FamilyCook invited NYC Teen Battle Chefs to participate in internships working with chefs in restaurants, teaching younger children cooking, growing food in food deserts, and cooking in farmers markets across 5 boroughs. In fall 2010, our program continues and thanks to Robin Quivers, her run in the NYC Marathon in November, will provide critical funding so our Teen Battle Chef programs in CT and in HealthCorps schools in NJ can experience these transformational internships as well.
